To create these images, I have basically created a ellipse, this is to create the circle in which I place the images, to create the desired outcome of my clock. The second part of the process was to search for the image I wanted to use for the designs. Once I had found the image I wanted I croped the background out and resized it. Lastly I went to Image – adjustments – threshold.
Here shown is some of the design ideas in which I could further develop to become my completed piece. Personally I find that the helicopter is my favourite piece of the lot is this down to the fact that the amount of detail which is sone. My personally don’t like the nuts and bolts piece due to the fact that its to simple.
The idea of the gears is personally my favourite idea due to the fact that it is placed in a way that it overlaps the actual clock mechanism. This is to give the illusion that the gears on the clock is actually turning the mechanism itself.
Out of the ideas I feel like I will further develop the idea of the airliner, this is because I feel like I could do more with the airliner compared to anything else
Kyle Thompson
For Kyle I decided to take inspiration form his simple leaves on water where he makes one of the areas rather dark then brings a vibrant area to the table such as leaves. For this instance I have used photoshop to make the water darker and cut, while editing the pine leaves to look greener. This allows for a high contrasting in colour (Grey/Green).
Brooke Shaden
For some of the experimentation for Brooke Shaden I have enhanced a random image of google to be high contrasting. This is in my opinion one of the areas in which Brooke dedicates her work.
Out of the two in which in which I have done I have found that Brooke Shaden work relates to me more due to the fact that it has very high contrasting colours which will be the case with my final piece.
Today I developed my designs for my final vinyl clock. Tommorow I will be cutting out the white sticker before applying it the day after.
On reflection on today I had almost completed my designs before the laptop decided to explode. Tommorow I will ensure that I borrow another laptop to make sure that I hit the deadline of the 5th June.
Today I managed to borrow another laptop of a family friend to complete the design. The aim of today is to make sure that I have the designs ready to go, so that in which I can start cutting the white sticker before applying it the day after.
On reflection on today I have managed to complete the design. Meaning that tomorrow I can start cutting out the white sticker.
During the making of my vinyl clock had the problem of the laptop which I was using, unexpectedly blew up. This set me back a few days, but in which I managed to borrow a laptop of my family member’s friend. There was also the problem of getting the missiles in the correct place so that the time is shown to be accurate. To solve this I downloaded some software which automatically placed the missiles in the correct place for me.
One of the problems in which I faced was the fact that I kept changing my ideas such as originally I wanted to add the nightmare before Christmas on to a plane, this was not able to happen due to the inability to use a laser cutter.
Today I was able to continue my experimentation using sketches. I found this useful as I was able to attempt other methods of mark making and allowed me to experiment with physical methods which I had previously not used before
.
Reflecting back on today I have not been able to complete the sketches this due to the matter of that my experimentation needed to be improved before submission.
